Sophia Costanzi is a costume, fashion, and floral designer with broad expertise in the performing arts and design. A native New Yorker from a large family of musicians and visual artists, Sophia has been lucky to develop a keen aesthetic from a very early age. She honed that aesthetic living in New Orleans, where she earned her BA in Costume Design from Tulane University. Her diverse production experience also includes scenic painting, props design/fabrication, as well as company/production management. Post-grad, Sophia has worked assisting a vast array of professionals, from theater producers to fashion designers. She has founded two businesses - Loud New Yorker, for her fashion work, and Philosophie Floral for her floral design.
Today, Sophia balances her businesses with her costume design, while also expressing herself through her singing and writing projects. Having worked on all sides of production, her global understanding uniquely positions her to design creatively within the practical constraints of the real world. Her favorite projects are those that explore and celebrate the millions of ways in which we are more similar than we are different.
